Woodie's

Overview

As one of RMS’s longest standing retail partners in Ireland, Woodie’s entrusted our team to support the opening of its first brand new store in 17 years. Located in Ennis, this landmark project represented a significant investment for the retailer and marked an important milestone in Woodie’s expansion strategy.

RMS deployed a dedicated team of 13 experienced merchandisers over a 5 week period to help transform the site into a fully operational Woodie’s retail environment, ready for opening day on Saturday 20th June.

The Challenge

Opening a brand new retail store presents a unique set of challenges, particularly when it is the first project of its kind undertaken by the retailer in nearly two decades.

Working alongside Woodie’s internal team and multiple contractors, RMS was tasked with supporting the final phases of the store fit-out, merchandising and display implementation. The project required careful coordination around ongoing equipment deliveries, evolving installation schedules and changing priorities across the build programme.

As with many large scale retail developments, external construction works continued beyond the completion of the internal store environment, creating additional challenges on timelines and requiring flexibility from all project partners.

Our Solution

Beginning on 27th April, RMS provided a team of 13 skilled merchandisers on site for 5 consecutive weeks.

Working in partnership with Woodie’s project team, RMS supported the installation of retail fixtures where required, including racking within key trading areas and the garden centre.

The primary focus was the delivery of a comprehensive merchandising programme across the store.

This involved:

  • Building and implementing bespoke branded displays
  • Merchandising multiple specialist product categories
  • Installing point of sale materials and promotional displays
  • Supporting fixture and racking completion where required
  • Ensuring planogram compliance and category presentation standards
  • Assisting with final store readiness activities ahead of opening

The project showcased the value of skilled merchandising, with many departments requiring detailed display construction and brand specific presentation standards rather than simple product replenishment.

Results

Despite the complexity of coordinating multiple contractors and ongoing construction activity, RMS successfully completed all internal store preparation works on schedule and within budget. RMS handed over a fully completed internal retail environment ready for trading.
