HFSS Legislation: RMS Store Support

HFSS Legislation - Store Support

RMS have been working with a number of large Retail Partners in England over the past few months to help carry out the new HFSS (High in Fats, Salts or Sugar) regulations that came into effect on Saturday 1st October 2022.

The regulations have been introduced in England in an attempt to reduce levels of obesity and to encourage people to make healthier choices when shopping.

HFSS regulations include restrictions on the areas that retailers can promote products that are high in fats, salts or sugars, meaning that these products had to be moved to alternative locations and the original locations stocked with HFSS-compliant products instead.

RMS have successfully supported 338 stores across England with implementing the changes required so that they are now compliant with the new regulations.

We commenced this extensive project in April 2022 and have delivered 83,739 hours of work across several retail partners to implement the changes required in line with the HFSS regulations in time for when they came into force on the 1st October 2022.

The project required very careful planning from the RMS logistics and project management teams to ensure that we had the right teams, in the right place and at the right time.

In store, the project required efficiency and organisation from our merchandising and installation teams and we have received some great feedback from various retail managers on the project execution standards delivered by the RMS teams.
