A New Addition for 2025 – The Full DofE Experience, Reimagined
This year, we’re reimagining the RMS Charity Golf Day to be more inclusive, meaningful, and aligned with the values of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award than ever before.
With the generous support of our sponsors and partners, we’re creating a parallel experience for non-golfers that mirrors the four key pillars of the DofE programme; Skill, Physical, Expedition, and Volunteering - all brought to life through a fun, engaging and thought-provoking day at Celtic Manor.
The day begins with a live demonstration from World Trick-Shot Champion Geoff Swain, reminding us all how impressive golf can be - and how much fun you can have learning something new.
Then, while the golfers take to the legendary Twenty Ten Course for their Texas Scramble, non-golfers will follow a specially designed journey:
⛳ Skills & Physical – Try Something New
Learn the basics of golf in a relaxed taster session led by Geoff Swain. Whether it’s your first swing or a refresher, this is a fun, physical challenge for all abilities.
🥾 Expedition – Explore, Discover, Reflect
Embark on a guided mini expedition with light map-reading and geocaching, encouraging personal reflection and connection through the great outdoors.
🔥 Volunteering & Community – Fireside Chats
Gather for informal discussions with business leaders and elite athletes on resilience, change, and the impact of the DofE in transforming young lives in Wales.
Bringing It All Together – Celebrate with Everyone
At the famous 18th green, everyone comes together for the “Beat the Pro” chipping competition. Whether you’ve played all day or just learned to hold a club, it’s a fun finale for all.
Over a delicious BBQ, we’ll reflect on the day with live illustrations capturing the event’s best moments. A short panel will recap key themes from the fireside chats, so everyone’s part of the conversation.

Funds raised will support The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Wales, helping more young people from marginalised backgrounds develop essential skills for work and life. Over the past decade, more than 100,000 young people in Wales have benefitted from DofE, gaining confidence, resilience, and experience that shapes their futures.

This event is also a tribute to RMS founder Peter O’Toole and his father John, both taken too soon by cancer. They were passionate about helping young people reach their potential and that legacy lives on through this day.
